Sorry for all the jargon, but before you decided to join our database you need to be aware of the following terms and conditions:

We do not directly employ our nannies but act as an introduction service matching parents with child carers living in the Alps. Joining our pool does not cost you anything, and does not commit you to anything.  We cannot guarantee you work, but are committed to sending you details of all work and putting you forward for all the placements that you say you would like to do.

Once you have been matched with a family, our involvement ends and it becomes your responsibility to:

* Maintain your own diary to ensure that you don't accept placements that clash.
* Record all the dates, times, contact details of the parents and other details you need.
* Ensure you check in advance with the parents that you know where the meeting point is, and arrive on time.
* Fill out a blank contract with the parent's names and your hours and ask them to sign it as soon as you meet them.
* Undertake your role in a professional and courteous manner for the agreed hours.
* Ensure that you only work the contracted hours, and that you are paid the pre-agreed rate at the end of the week.
* Contact the parents immediately if there is any problem in advance of, and during the placement.
* Declare your income on your personal tax returns in your home country.
* Abide by French law for the duration of the placement.
* Conduct yourself in a professional and courtous manner.
* Maintain your own travel insurance policy to cover yourself and your property while you are in France.
* Ensure that your policy includes personal liability insurance (most do automatically, but check with your insurers).

We have a responsibility to our clients to ensure that they are matched with nannies that are reliable, professional and always on time, so we cannot tolerate lateness, even of a few minutes.

If you are late, or if you fail to meet your responsibilities in any other way, you will have broken your contract and the parents are within their rights to terminate the placement without pay.  If this happens your other pending placements will also be cancelled without pay, and we will be unable to offer you any further placements or provide you with a positive reference.

It is very difficult to find a replacement at short notice, so you must be aware that if for any reason you are late for a placement and the parents have to terminate, you will not only be depriving yourself of your pay and any future work opportunities, but you will be depriving a family of child care for their hard earned holiday.

By joining our database you agree to the following:

You agree that our role is only to introduce you to the Parent and to provide details of their child care requirements. We do not guarantee any long term recruitment or other kind of engagement by the Parent which will depend upon the absolute discretion of the Parent. If selected for a placement, you will be under the supervision, direction and control of the Parent without any liability upon us.

You understand that you are not our agent, employee, partner or in any other relationship and you do not have authority to enter into any commitment on our behalf unless specifically authorised in writing by us, and you will not mislead the Parents to believe that you can provide a service which is outside your field of expertise.

You have supplied and will continue to supply true and correct information about yourself. You further undertake that you have all qualifications and registrations, whether medical or occupational and education, training, skills, CRB checks and employment experience that you have included in your profile. All the certificates and information as may be required in support of your undertaking will be self verified by you to be true and correct.

You will indemnify us for any breach of these terms on your part.

You understand when you join our database, you will be asked to provide us with certain information including that of personal nature. For the purposes of the Data Protection Act 1998, you consent to the processing of your all or any personal data (in manual, electronic or any other form) relevant to this agreement, by us and/or any agent or third party nominated by us and bound by a duty of confidentiality. Processing includes but is not limited to obtaining, recording, using and holding data and includes the transfer of data to any country either inside or outside the EEA. You understand and agree that we may disclose to third parties, on an anonymous basis, certain aggregate information contained in your registration information and profile.

You will have the sole responsibility to verify the Parents identity, credentials and other relevant information delivered to you by any Parents.

You undertake to provide the services as per the governing law in the United Kingdom in addition to the provisions of Care Standards Act 2000. You also undertake to hold any registration and a valid licence from appropriate authority or authorities as may be necessary in the application for your services.

Like we said lots of jargon, and it's clearly geared towards worst case scenario, but these terms and conditions are there to protect you, as well as the parents we might match you with.
